Not only are you about to go aloft in K5054 but you are stepping out across hallowed ground where many trainee RAF pilots have fought had to gain the seat in a frontline RAF fighter! You are about to do the very same thing! K5054 awaits patiently! Join the pilot for the essential walk round and customary tyre kick before you get crewed in for the most amazing flight around the Welsh Coastline.

 

Power checks complete, you line up and your heart is in your mouth with expectation, it does not disappoint! The wheels leave the tarmac and you are climbing at 160mph up above RAF Valley, you can see RAF Hawk trainers below you with eager RAF trainees wishing they were in your seat! The scenery is stunning along the Welsh Coast and you will be mesmerised by the view including upside down as you take part in a few gentle aerobatics and get the feel for this pure thoroughbred Just as you thought it could not get any better and with your heart singing in tune with the throb of the engine, you hear an Jupiter HT-1 Helicopter call up for joining you in formation.

 

As you fly south towards St Athan, yet another historic ex RAF Airfield, you will have time to feel the controls and have a final play with the aircraft before you head on down for landing. Touching down on an airfield that was built in 1938 and one that provided a massive support to the war effort with technical training and maintenance of all types including the Spitfire and Hurricane.

As you run into the circuit, all eyes will be on you and K5054, everyone gazing skywards at this 1930s marvel of technology! It does not get better than this.
