Today you are taking the flight of your life! Not only are you walking out to a Spitfire which is just incredible but one that represents the start of the Spitfire story!  You are strapping into K5054 for 1 hour and 10 minutes of pure unadulterated fun!  As you charge down the runway, the smell, noise and acceleration of the Spitfire being pulled aloft by the 1700 horses under the bonnet will blow your mind.  Wheels thud into the wheel wells and you depart from the iconic Prestwick which served the allies so well in ww2 as first landfall for American aircraft heading across the Atlantic to join the war effort.
Your route today heading over some quintessential English landscapes, from the lake District to the epic scenery of the Welsh Mountains. Any view across these Landscapes is incredible, but here you are in your lofty perch, a British triumph of engineering and skill passing overhead National parks and beautiful locations. As you depart Prestwick and head South, yet again the excitement builds further as you hear the callsign for a Hawk T2 Jet which is soon to slide into formation with you in your Spitfire! Old and New technology, flying side by side, abiding by the same simple rules of physics but 90 years apart! Unbelievable!   
As the fighter waggles his wing and departs, you are left to your thoughts and the views as the pilot asks if you would like to sample the harmony of the Spitfire handling as well as some gentle aerobatics over the lake district before you head down over Blackpool, where so many Spitfire pilots started their careers at initial training wings and basic training. Shropshire and airfields all along your route played host to Spitfire training schools, as you pass by, maybe reflect on that pilot who had taken up a Spitfire on their first flight and imagine their sheer delight at the performance. As you head down to RAF Valley, the home of the RAF Hawk and which had been a fighter station since 1942. Lasting memories made never to be repeated.
