A SPITFIRE FLIGHT FOR £20?

When the British Aerobatic Association (BAeA) approached us about their new lottery, we got very excited. Our mission is to share the Spitfire with as many people as possible, but we acknowledge that it's an experience financially out of the reach of some. So what better way to make the most memorable aviation experience more inclusive than to offer anyone the chance to win a flight in this iconic aircraft in exchange for just £20!

As a result we're excited to announce that we've teamed up with BAeA to offer a Spitfire flight experience in our TR9 two-seater as a prize in their newly launched lottery. The fun doesn't end there either, because the prize winner gets to experience one of our longer 50-minute flight experiences (40 mins. airborne) - enough time to head out to the coast from Goodwood and do a full lap of the Isle of Wight, including past the iconic white cliffs at The Needles (as pictured below).

What's more you'll get the full 'royal treatment' with an overnight stay at the 4-star Goodwood Hotel and dinner for two included in the prize, letting you make the most of the very best this one-of-a-kind Sussex Estate has to offer.

Not only does each £20 ticket give you around a 1 in 1,000 chance of winning this phenomenal prize, but you can rest assured that your money is going to a good cause even if you don't end up being the lucky winner, with proceeds from the lottery going towards the British Aerobatics team's power and glider training and support fund. This will help the very best of British aviators to prepare for the upcoming European and World Championships. Furthermore a donation will be made to the charity Aerobility, long time friends of the Academy, who offer flying training and flight experiences to disabled people - be sure to check out the Aerobility website for more insight into their inspiring work and mission.

"This is a great fundraising initiative which invites everyone to be a part of helping our talented British pilots continue competing for individual and team medals at aerobatic championships around the world. Here is your chance to help us provide that little bit of extra support needed to take on the best and bring back a medal,” says Steve Todd, Chairman, BAeA.

Whether you buy one ticket or one hundred, for yourself or to gift to a loved one, they give you a great chance of experiencing the South coast of England passing under those famous elliptical wings. You'll take-off from the grass runways of Goodwood Aerodrome, powered into the sky by all 27-litres of a truly authentic Rolls-Royce V12 Merlin engine. The 1,300+ brake horsepower it produces will easily whisk you through the air at over 300mph. For those that want to there's of course the chance to indulge in some aerobatics over the Solent - and trust us when we say there are few more memorable moments than the first time you experience a victory roll in a Spitfire. And at your pilot's discretion you'll also be given the chance to take control for yourself, though we prefer to leave the aerobatics to the experts!

HOW TO GET TICKETS

Tickets can be obtained by emailing lottery@aerobatics.org.uk. The BAeA request no person under the age of 16 years is permitted to purchase or sell lottery tickets. The winner of the Spitfire trip must be over 18 years of age, other terms and conditions apply including height (6'4") and weight (17 stone) restrictions.

This is the first prize draw being offered by the BAeA who have obtained a small society lottery licence (Registration No. SSL 1786) from Huntingdonshire District Council. The lottery draw will take place on Wednesday 14 March 2018 at the offices of Aerobility, Blackbushe Airport, Camberley, Surrey.
