This week friend of the Academy David Williams has been out and about promoting his latest children's book 'Grandpa's Great Escape', a story of a young boy and his grandfather's tales of being a Spitfire pilot in WWII.
As part of his research for the book David came to the Boultbee Flight Academy for a Spitfire flight in our 2-seat Spitfire G-ILDA. You might have caught some of the footage of that flight on BBC Breakfast this week:
We wish David the very best of success, as Grandpa himself says in the book "I'll see you in the skies. Up, up and away!"

This was a fascinating look into the history of the Spitfire, written in a way that keeps it engaging throughout. The balance of technical detail and https://cabriostructures.com/ storytelling works well. I read a historical deep dive on that gave me a similar appreciation for legacy and design.
The storytelling kept it engaging while still being educational. I’ve seen https://countonsheep.com/ historical write-ups like this appreciated on as well.
Loved this post the historical context you provided really brought the story to life. I especially enjoyed the technical details. I also came across a https://citysecurityservices.com review blog discussing aviation history, which gave a fresh perspective.
A fascinating look into the history of the Spitfire. The storytelling made the subject come alive, and it reminded me of historical deep dives I’ve seen on a https://nptica.com review blog,
A fascinating historical overview. The way you traced the Spitfire’s legacy made the story both educational and engaging. I recently came across a military history article on https://theshelfking.com that sparked a similar interest.
