Trevor Lawrence

Trev grew up in Canada. And at the age of 7, he told his mum he was going to become a pilot.

After moving to the UK and finishing school in South Yorkshire, he became a pastry chef working in Scotland and London to pay for his flight training.

At 23, he obtained his flying instructor’s rating and joined Sheffield Aero Club, where he became the Chief Flying Instructor for two years. During this time, he started flying Tiger Moths, taking passengers on air experience flights and teaching qualified pilots to fly vintage taildraggers.

He then moved to Bournemouth to work for a commercial training school that supplied airline cadets to various major European airlines.

Trev landed his first airline job with Thomas Cook, flying to both short- and long- haul destinations on the Airbus fleet. After the travel company’s demise, he joined Jet2 at Manchester, where he got Command. He now flies for British Airways on the Airbus A350 fleet, based at London Heathrow.

He owned a flying school based at Retford Gamston. And after a few thousand hours of teaching on various types including Piper Cubs, Tiger Moths, Boeing Stearmans and Harvards, Trev joined Spitfires.com in 2023 to fly the Spitfire.

Trev continues to instruct and examine for the Civil Aviation Authority alongside his day job, and helps people cure their fear of flying.
