Dom Hart
Airvan Pilot
About Dom
Dom was born in Liverpool, where he grew up dreaming of flight and reading lots of Biggles books.
He first took flight in a Sea King at RAF Valley in 1997 while on a summer camp with the Air Training Corps. Two days later, he found himself enjoying his first ever training flight in the Scottish Aviation ‘Bulldog’ at RAF Mona.
Dom went on to join the RAF Voluntary Reserve in 2004, flying the Grob ‘Tutor’ with Liverpool University Air Squadron.
In the intervening years, he worked in a number of industries to fund his aviation training. He has experience in live entertainment, construction, project management, teaching, and health and safety. He’s also a prize winner of two Royal Institute of Navigation flying competitions, in 2018 and 2019.
Dom successfully gained his Commercial Pilot Licence and Flight Instructor Certificate at John Lennon Airport in 2020, training with Ravenair. And he began instructing in 2021, alongside ferry flying work.
For Dom, joining Spitfires.com is a childhood dream come true, and he’s loving every moment of his time with the team – and with the Spitfires!
