About John
John started learning to fly in 1987 with no thoughts of a career in aviation. He became a flying instructor and commercial pilot in 1990, and quickly developed a passion for vintage and aerobatic aeroplanes.
After years of aerobatic competition flying in Yaks, Pitts Specials and Extras, he got the chance to fly a warbird in 2006 when he flew the Hawker Hurricane and P51D Mustang.
His first trip in the backseat of a Spitfire was in 2012. He finally realised a lifelong dream and joined the Spitfires team in 2024.
